Four from Manipur called up for National camp by Wheelchair Basketball Federation of India

Imphal, July 03 2025: In a proud moment, as many as 4 para athletes from Manipur have been called up by the Wheelchair Basketball F ederation of India for the National camp to be held at Visakhapatnam from August 4 to 30 in view of an international competition.

The State para athletes who were named among 20 others for the National are Chakpram Lokeshwori of Singjamei, Maimom Gunibala of Haorang Khunou, Irengbam Ritu of Irengbam Makha Leikai and Nahakpam Ratan.

Among the 20 athletes, 12 will be selected in the National team, said Wheelchair Basketball Association Manipur (WBAM) in a press release.

Further the association has been informed that the 9th edition of National Wheelchair Basketball Championship-2025 will be held from September 1 to 10 at Atal Bihari Vajpayee Centre for the Disabilities Sports in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, it said.

To facilitate participation in the camp and form a team for the upcoming championship, WBAM will be conducting a selection trial camp from July 20 to 24 at Singjamei Hao ground, it said.

Eligible athletes intending to participate in the said trial selection may contact WBAM via mobile nos- 9862660332, 8131014209 and 9862275037, it said.

WBAM also sought support from generous donors and philanthropists to encourage these para athletes.
