IDPs to stage sit-in protest today

Imphal, July 02 2025: Residents of relief camps set up across the state will stage sit-in protests on Thursday.

According to a press release issued by Churachandpur Meitei United Committee assistant information secretary Khoisnam Amarjit, the decision to stage the protest was unanimously taken in a joint meeting of United Committee Organisation, Meitei Youth Organisation, Churachandpur Meitei Ethnic Class Victim Committee, Ima Leimarol and Nupi Samaj held at a prefabricated house in Kwakta.

Other resolutions adopted included informing about the agitation to all IDPs and to further intensify the protests in case the government fails to address their issues.
