Three arrested; grenade, vehicles, phones recovered

Imphal, July 01 2025: Security forces have arrested three cadres of proscribed organisations from different places.

A release issued by Manipur Police Control Room informed that a cadre of the proscribed PREPAK (Pro) identified as Khundongbam Kalambiya Singh alias Atomba (19) of Heirok Part-II was arrested from Charangpat Mamang Leikai under Thoubal police station on Monday.

He was involved in extortion and kidnapping activities.

One each 36 HE hand grenade, mobile phone, sim card and Bajaj Pulsar were recovered from him.

On Monday, a cadre of Pambei-led UNLF identified as Khagembam Bishal Singh (19) alias Pakpa alias Lainingthou of Phougakchao Ikhai Bazar was arrested from Khurai Kongpal Thoubandong area for involvement in cases related to illegal adjudication in land disputes, crime against women and loan recovery cases.

A white Mahindra Bolero, three mobile handsets and Rs 1,030 were recovered from his possession.

A cadre of proscribed KCP (PWG) identified as Mutum Dinesh Sihgh (38) of Yairipok Nungbrang Makha Leikai was arrested from near Leirongth-el Pitra Primary School.

He faces charge of involvement in extortion and kidnapping activities, and recruitment of cadres for the outfit.

Two mobile phones, two sim cards, three ATM cards, one each PAN card, Aadhaar card and driving license, and Rs 450 were recovered from him, the release added.
