KMA adopts resolutions

The Karnataka Meitei Association celebrated its second foundation day on June 21.Dr Maimom Santi Kumar Singha, Dr Santi Kumar, working president National Manipuri Progressive Front attended the event, said KMA in a statement.
The congregation took several resolutions.
It decided to push for a Meitei representative in the Assam State Legislative Assembly, keeping in mind the upcoming 2026 general elections to secure Constitutional safeguards for minority Meiteis in Assam and advance their cultural and socioeconomic development.
Further, KMA will initiate the collection of statistical data on Meiteis residing in Bangalore and across Karnataka.
This vital exercise will lay the foundation for a well-defined roadmap to advance the association's long-envisioned initiatives aimed at the welfare and empowerment of the Meitei community in the region, said the association.
